I have small children and life is such a drag!  I’m overwhelmed, tired and stressed out.  Does motherhood have to feel this way?

Yes and no.   An unfortunate element of our modern world is that raising young children is often a lonely, tiring and thankless job.  Sometimes it helps parents to know that their frustration and isolation are normal and extremely common.  I encourage clients to form or join a community of like-minded parents, which is a lot easier to do before you have children (i.e. when you have time and energy), but can be done afterwards if the intention is strong and clear.  I also stress the value of good babysitters and other forms of shared childcare, so that parents can get the rest and time to themselves that they so desperately need.   I believe that this type of support, on a daily and practical level, is more important to a parent’s happiness than anything I can offer.    It is my absolute priority when working with parents of small children to help them find community support, good childcare options, and time without children in which to recuperate and have fun.
