Adolescence can be a time of angst and frustration. Teens are commonly seen as rebellious, difficult, arrogant or moody, and it is rare for a teen to feel truly understood. In my work with homeschoolers, students, and adult clients, I have seen the damaging effect that young people's oppression has on the ability to know oneself and to create a joyfully self-expressive life. I have also seen the sense of freedom, power and vitality that is possible for young people who are supported in discovering and celebrating their true selves.
