Teen Liberation Discussion Group ~ Young people talk about their experience and receive encouragement for taking charge of their lives
Adolescence can be a time of angst and frustration. Teens are often seen as rebellious, difficult, arrogant or moody, and it is rare for a teen to feel truly understood. In my work with homeschoolers, students, and adult clients, I have seen the damaging effects of oppression of young people on the ability to know oneself and to create a joyfully self-expressive life. It is of great benefit when young people deal oppression in their lives before that oppression hinders the development of a healthy sense of self. Teens meet in my home on Monday evenings 6-10pm for personal support and to discuss ageism, educational alternatives, life goals and dreams, and whatever else is on their minds. My 15-year-old daughter Kayla co-facilitates with me. There is no cost for this, but contributions of all kinds are welcome.
